CRAZY PAINTING IN ‘57.  Before Roth became a household name in the early 60’s for his wild Rods and Monsters he was developing a reputation in car magazines and on the streets of SoCal for his flames, stripes, scallops, and lettering.  An article on “Crazy Painting” in CAR CRAFT NOV 1957 featured these two paintjobs by Roth including his famous FORD F100.
